What is Earlobe Repair?
This is a minor procedure targeted to correct imperfections in earlobe and reduce the overall size of an earlobe. These imperfections can be caused by stretching over time, piercing or by wearing heavy earrings. Earlobe reduction is a minor procedure performed by Dr. Kalyam in the office under local anesthesia.
How Is Earlobe Procedure Performed?
Elongated or torn site is remove surgically and sutures are placed to join the two portions of earlobe together to re-create a clean border. The procedure is not painful as a local anesthesia is applied.
Results & Expectations
There is no down time after the earlobe repair. Results are visible immediately after the procedure. As the scarring heals, the skin edges will blend together and skin looks smoother. It takes about six weeks for the healing and then the skin can be re-pierced again. The results are permanent. It is not recommended to pierce the skin at the same site as scar as the tissue is not strong as normal skin.
